Description
Colvic 20 fisherman for sale. Fitted with a 3 cylinder Volvo MD3. Double berth. Sea toilet. Storage locker. This is a project although it won't take a lot to finish.
EDIT I started the engine today. I have videos off it but can't seem to post them. Mail for more info. I did buy it running but regardless with this wee engine it's bullet proof and easily serviceable and will tooter around all day long on £5 or £10 of diesel. For all the cost involved I'd recommend renewing the plumbing and seacocks - again once it's done, it's done an you've no worries. Last thing you want is a busted seacock when your 5 mile out!
Inside the cabin is fairly good order and just requires cosmetic finishing such as headlining & flooring. I've not checked the sea toilet but it would probably need serviced and hose & seacock checked.
The deck area requires a new floor and a good tidy. At least when you have the floor in it will be done an if done right will last for many, many years. All instruments are there including steering, throttle & gear controls. The fuel tank is currently below the helm but my plan was to fit a plastic tank in the rear storage compartment. One of the panes of glass is cracked but it would be an easy replacement. The main bulkhead is solid but can easily be renewed depending on what you want and how you want it finished.
The hull is sound but will obviously need rubbed down, filled and painted. All cleats, bollards etc are solid. The portholes would be better changed and would look better if the window rubbers were also changed. The stern gear all appears to be in serviceable condition. The rudder gear is there but it will need a new rudder fabricated from either hardwood or stainless.
The trailer has just been made for it and is solid. I towed it with a Partner van fine.
As I said it won't take a lot to leave the boat in useable condition. I recon a solid week of work would be very sore on it but it will depend on the standard of finish you want to achieve. At the end of the day you will have an excellent sea boat and one which will be worth more than you will put into it. Do your homework, read reviews, ask about and you will see how good these boats are. You will have no problem sailing to Rathlin, Donegal, Scotland or the Scottish islands when you have her finished, she will be more than capable.
Ive got a few rolls of Fiberglass matt & resin and headlining carpet available at extra cost.
Ive also a split new Standard Horizon chef and Glomex aerial too. Price can negotiated along with the boat if you want them.
I'm not open to fool offers or swaps so don't waste my time.
Price is £2200 ovno.
